Meditation is usually recognized as a spiritual practice but it also has many health benefits.

As a matter of fact, there have been numerous studies showing that meditation dramatically reduces, and even reverses disease of all types.

Reiki Two Workshop  Return to Top


Reiki One level workshop teaches you how to heal the physical body. Reiki Two level workshop deals more with the mental and emotional bodies.

In this workshop you will learn ways to expand your ability to receive and channel Reiki. You will learn the Reiki symbols, the meanings behind these symbols and when and how to use them. You will also understand why symbols are an important step in your spiritual transformation and how the process actually works. Finally, you will learn to send distance healing to your friends and family.

Shamanic Journey Circles  Return to Top


Lyn Birmingham or Lynn Wolf will be teaching a two hour workshop: Shamanic Drumming.

Shamanism is about healing and connection to all things - nature, oneself, each other and the Divine/Spirit. The shamanic journey occurs by shifting awareness or consciousness for the purpose of gaining spiritual and healing insight. This is achieved by listening to a drumbeat in a safe and sacred space, surrounded by a supportive community and a responsible teacher and practitioner. The drumbeat used is similar to that of the frequency measured from the earth. Through it, and through shamanic practice, we are all one.

Bio Lyn Wolf: Lynn Wolf, a member of the Spirit Moon Community, is a wellness educator. She is trained in Usui Reiki, Core Shamanism, Aromatherapy and Herbal Healing. Lynn has studied with shamanic teachers Kristin Madden and Lyn Birmingham, and has completed the Foundation for Shamanic Studies "The Way of the Shaman" class with Sandra Ingerman. She has studied with healing practitioners and teachers Connie Henry ND, CPH, RN, and Digby Henry in New Mexico, and Reiki Master Jennifer Walz, L.Ac. (Dallas, TX). Lynn is passionate about helping others explore their options for healing body, mind, heart and spirit.

Dowsing  Return to Top


Learning to dowse is like learning to play a musical instrument or learning to type, it requires carefully controlled instruction and practice.

Basic dowsing pendulum consists of a weight suspended on a flexible string, chain, etc. It could be made out of metal, wood, crystal or any material.

How does it work?

One theory is that our subconscious mind has access, either directly or through our higher self, to the information normally not available to our senses. Dowsing pendulum or divining rod in our hands acts like an indicator of the changes in the vibrational field of our environment.

In this two-hour workshop, you will learn, through the use of a pendulum, where your energy field is blocked and how to discover your own energy field as well as that of others. The more we understand about what is going on energetically, behind the scenes in life, the more we can take charge of the process. Dowsing can be a powerful tool to explore the world of subtle energies and to understand how we are intimately tied to these energies.

Kundalini Yoga by Jenny PowelJenny has been a teacher all her life and has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. She is certified to teach Hatha yoga, Kundalini yoga and children's yoga.

Our children live in a world of busy parents, school pressures, video games, malls, and competitive sports. We usually don't think of these influences as stressful for our kids, but often they are. Yoga can help counter these pressures.

When children learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, they can navigate life's challenges with a little more ease. Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that is noncompetitive.

We used the yoga asanas, music, storytelling and drawing. Our time together becomes a truly interdisciplinary approach to learning.

Derived from our Foundations Series, Yoga Basics is the perfect place to begin - or to reawaken your interest and resume your practice! A short series of slower paced, informative classes will provide you with a strong foundation in the practice of Yoga, preparing you to proceed to other classes offered by Shambhala Wellness Center Class may include discussion of the historical and philosophical background of Yoga, study and practice of the fundamental Yoga postures including correct body positioning and alignment for your body, and detailed instruction on how to combine breath and movement.

Relax & Renew Restorative YogaReturn to Top

We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely.

Restorative yoga, as well as other forms of yoga, help to trigger the Parasympathetic nervous system also known as the PNS. The PNS is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate, blood pressure; it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily.

Join me each Sunday afternoon for a time in which we will relax and renew your mind, body and spirit.

We work with the Kundalini energy, one's dormant spiritual energy. This Kundalini energy in its' dormant state is visualized as a snake coiled up at the first chakra at the base of the spine. During the yoga practice this energy is moved upwards to the seventh chakra. This raising of the kudalini energy unity you with the supreme consciousness

Adventure Yoga by KimberlyReturn to Top

Kundalini Yoga by Jenny PowelKimberly is a certified yoga instructor from a Yoga Alliance affiliated school in Dallas. She has trained with exciting teachers such as Tias Little and David Sunshine, a student of B.K.S Iyanger and Jessica Okeefe.

Kimberly teaches Adventures Yoga, which is greatly influenced by her shamanic learning's and meditation at the Rudra Center for Enlightened Awareness.

Kimberly is a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a certified Reiki 1 practitioner in the Usui tradition, and is training in Neuro-linguistic Programming to enhance her journey's in movement with her words. She continues to train in yoga and reach for greater excellence and joy.

Kimberly enjoys tea, laughing, playing outside, and story-telling.

Pre-Natal Yoga by Lisa-Elena FurrhReturn to Top

Prepare for birth with poses modified for pregnancy. This slow class will help relax the lower back, open the hips, and strengthen the pelvic floor. Mama and baby connect with visualizations and meditations for a safe and healthy delivery.

Lisa-Elena started her yogic journey in 1995 after seeing people practicing beautiful poses on the beach in Mexico. As soon as she got back to Texas she started a regular Kundalini Yoga practice.

Over the years, she has practiced many styles of yoga with a diverse range of teachers. Pre-natal yoga helped her through two pregnancies in 2010 and 2011. She likes to practice yoga because it makes her back and neck feel great and sleep and digestion improve. Yoga also calms her mind and improves concentration.

She believes everyone can benefit from a regular yoga practice and to share this wonderful technology, she completed the 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher training in 2012. Her flowing classes incorporate music and poses that align the spine, build strength, and improve flexibility and posture.

Prenatal yoga classes help mamas prepare for birth, relax the lower back, open the hips, and strengthen the pelvic floor. Mommy-and-me classes help mamas strengthen abdominal muscles, rebuild the pelvic floor, and stabilize the sacrum while babies enjoy a stimulating and joyful bonding practice through touch and communication.
