Selenite Crystals & Their Healing Properties
My instructor instructed me to research the selenite crystal during our Medium-ship workshop. She mentioned it would be very beneficial for this class. She was right, so I bought this great crystal. I was expecting a small crystal but was clearly surprised when I opened the package. It was huge.
The Attributes of Selenite
Selenite Crystals are remarkably peaceful. They instill a deep sense of inner peace, clarity and carry a very high vibration that makes them ideal for healing. The crown chakra is associated with the Selenite stone and aside from this you can use Selenite to contact your Guardian Angel or Spiritual Guides.
Cleansing and clearing other crystals of negative energies and vibrations is another wonderful property of Selenite. Unlike other metaphysical stones, you will never have to recharge or cleanse your Selenite crystal because it does that by itself.
In new age and spiritual work, Selenite is considered one of the more powerful healing stones. It ensures a peaceful environment when stones are placed around the home and is an excellent stone for meditation.
Some say that rubbing a smooth piece of Selenite will help you enter into the realm of dreams, intuition, Spiritual Guides and Angels, but the most common benefit is that it will calm and lift your energy when making contact for more than five minutes.
Place a piece of Selenite on your Third Eye Chakra (in between or slightly above your 
eyebrows) if you want to increase your psychic or telepathic abilities.
These are just some of the many metaphysical and healing properties of Selenite. Selenite provides valuable insight and energy for healing or spiritual practices.
Selenite crystals’ primary influence is on the subtle energy bodies of the human form. They act as conduits and connect light energy with the physical being. They can be identified by their defined striations of pure white, translucent rock. Each Selenite crystal has its own specific metaphysical properties and they come in different colors and forms as an indication of this.
Selenite as a Natural Mineral
The most common places where Selenite can be found is in the southwestern United States, Mexico and throughout Europe. Evaporated landlocked salt water is what creates this mineral. With the compositions of hydrous calcium sulfate, its form is still related to water even when it solidifies as a rock.
The four varieties of the mineral Gypsum include; Selenite, satin spar, desert rose, and gypsum flower; they all show obvious crystalline structure. However, the four varieties of the crystalline gypsum are sometimes collectively called Selenite.
The chemical formula for all four varieties of gypsum, which include Selenite and alabaster is CaSO4•2H2O or otherwise known as calcium sulfate dihydrate (meaning has two molecules of water). Selenite was named after the Ancient Greek word for the Moon, but one should not be mistaken to assume that selenium is one of the compositions of Selenite, because it has none. It just so happens that both substances were named after the same celestial object in Greek.
Spiritual Healing and Growth with Selenite Crystals
Selenite crystals are said to connect with the light body, or the higher spirit. It has the ability to attract guidance and an awareness of the angelic consciousness because it is a very spiritual stone; this is largely due to its extremely fine vibrational energy. Selenite is a very useful stone for those interested in attuning to a higher vibration through meditation.
A Selenite crystal is said to aid in telepathy. On your third eye chakra, project positive intentions or thought-forms through a piece of Selenite stone, while holding it over your forehead. You can also project it inwards and meditate on your personal plans and future goals as well as ask the crystal to reveal your purpose in life. Astral projection and scrying are also alternative metaphysical uses for Selenite.
Having a large Selenite crystal in the home, or keeping one close, can be very beneficial for those who simply want to appreciate tranquil emotions, a peaceful atmosphere, and a greater connection with love. Helping an individual understand what may have been previously confusing or hidden in the subconscious is what the presence of Selenite can do; it also brings clarity of mind.
How to Use Selenite
While Selenite is very powerful (metaphysically) it is also a very delicate stone 
that needs special care when being handled. Do not abuse its power, so you should have the most positive intentions when you use it or else the power you wield could backfire into a very nasty negative energy. If you’re going to use it as a healing stone, then employ the help of hematite, boji or any other grounding stone as a conjunction with Selenite.
